Manufacturing Supervisor Pay, Hours and Benefits

  • £36,000 - £40,000

The Manufacturing Supervisor role is commutable from the following areas: Derby, Nottingham, Sutton in Ashfield, Mansfield, Chesterfield.


Role Overview

The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Fabrication, Welding, Machine shop and Paint shop teams to ensure the efficient manufacturing of quality products, playing a crucial role in driving performance improvements and ensuring targets are met. Championing continuous improvement in all activities and areas of responsibilities.


Manufacturing Supervisor Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of HND in Engineering (ideally)
  • 4+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Experience in a technical manufacturing environment
  • IOSH/NEBOSH Certificate
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet targets
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of 5S an Lean manufacturing principles
  • Driving License


Manufacturing Supervisor Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of production employees to ensure efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and compliance requirements
  • Train and develop team members to enhance skills and efficiency
  • Coordinate with other departments (quality control, maintenance, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, safety updates, and key objectives.
  • Monitor production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Address any operational issues promptly and work towards effective resolutions.

The Product Manager is responsible for leading growth strategy, profitability, and optimisation across your assigned segment and regional product portfolio.  

The successful candidate will have strong technical aptitude and a strategic mindset.  You will be instrumental in leading the growth of a key strategic segment.   • Engineering or technical degree is highly preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Product Management, Technical, or Sales function within a technical B2B environment.

  • Knowledge of the Food & Beverage market preferred.

  • Lead the implementation of Segment strategy to achieve significant profitable growth.
  • Establish deep understanding of Segment applications and technical standard requirements. Maintain global Segment Application Map, ensuring PM team and other key stakeholders are actively aware of updates.
  • Manage the existing regional product portfolio, including pricing, revenue, profitability, and appropriate product line optimization.
  • Support development of global product roadmap, providing insight and direction for products in assigned region.

RESPONSIBILITIES for PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

  • Design and develop high-quality products using CAD software, primarily Autodesk Inventor
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and specifications to guide manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with our quality standards
  • Uphold the integrity of our design and development work

REQUIREMENTS for PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Ideally, an understanding of metals, fabrication techniques, and machining processes.
  • Expertise in Autodesk Inventor and familiarity with Autodesk Vault preferred but experience with other CAD systems will be considered
  • Background in shop floor machining or hands-on manufacturing environments.
  • Experience producing BOMs (Bills of Materials) and technical documentation for manufacturing.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Role Overview

This highly successful, hypergrowth business is looking to recruit an Electronics Engineer to support the continuing growth of their design department. The Electronics Engineer is responsible for designs, tests and implements hardware and embedded software to extend the company product range. The role will involve working as part of the engineering and wider project teams to ensure products meet the requirements of the customer and product standards.

Electronics Engineer Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Electronics Engineer degree or similar. 
  • Proven experience in embedded firmware design, development, and testing.  
  • You will have demonstrable experience in new product development and product development processes.
  • Experience in electronics hardware design, development, and testing; including PCB schematic design and layout.

Other Required Experience

  • EMC design and test.
  • Creation of supporting design documentation, development reports, BoM, build packs.
  • Architecture design and architecture design tools.
  • Firmware unit, integration, and system testing. 
  • Design validation processes – FMEA, DFM.  

Electronics Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintenance of hardware and embedded software for use within new and existing products.
  • Observe existing processes and identify areas of improvement. 
  • Assessment and documentation of products against specifications and standards.
  • Running effective testing and diagnostics that validate product requirements.
  • Coordinate with and assist other departments.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
  • Writing specifications, instructions, reports, and handling other required administrative duties.

We’re on the lookout for an Apprentice-Trained Service Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join an established team. Based in Blackburn, you’ll travel to key customer sites across Bristol, Scunthorpe, Cumbria, and Leicester, providing top-tier service and support.

  • Apprentice trained and qualified to Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
  • Experience in sewage treatment, recycling plants, or heavy engineering environments is highly desirable
