Specific Role & Responsibilities for the CNC Turning Setter Operator:
Set up and operate CNC Lathe Machines using Fanuc controls
Program machines from print drawings
Maintain high standards and tight tolerances
Adhere to quality standards, checking work with various instruments
Work alternative shifts/hours as needed
Perform other duties or specific projects as directed by management.
Required Skills for a CNC Turning Setter Operator:
Experience using CNC machines with Fanuc controls.
Proficient in using various inspection equipment, including micrometers, verniers, and plug gauges.
Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and engineering drawings.
Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance and specifications efficiently and accurately.
Capable of meeting internal and external customer requirements.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, monitoring, and expediting Engineered To Order customer orders from engineering release to delivery. You will create and manage resource plans to maximize efficiency and optimize customer satisfaction. This full-time role involves collaboration with various departments, regular performance analysis, and adherence to company policies. Role Responsibilities for a Material Buyer / Planner:
Collaborate with the BU Operations team to create Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) and Rough Cut Capacity Plans (RCCPs) based on sales plans and forecasts.
Review RCCPs at least quarterly, analysing performance and forecasting labour and material needs.
Coordinate with Engineering and Contracts to develop supply, manufacture, assembly, and test plans that meet customer deadlines, following the Company’s Stage Gate procedures.
As a Production/Project align material supply with project timelines in collaboration with Purchasing, considering inventory value and cash-flow targets.
Coordinate material availability with Production, including third-party subcontractors.
Set weekly and daily production targets with Package Build and Test to optimize resources and meet customer deadlines.
Organize weekly project review meetings with stakeholders, and prepare and manage project plans, action registers, and progress actions.
Prepare and manage Works Orders for kitting, assembly, and test operations.
Distribute monthly performance data and KPIs on project milestones, resource and capacity availability, materials availability, and inventory values and ratios.
Adhere to the Company Health and Safety Policy in all work practices.
Material Buyer / Planner Skills & Experience Required:
Professional business qualification or equivalent experience in Project Planning, Production, Materials Control, or Supply Chain Management
Over 5 years’ experience in a project-based heavy engineering environment
Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office, and ERP systems in manufacturing
Knowledge of planning processes, theories, and practices
As a Production Planner have the ability to work within defined budgets and company policies
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, strong teamwork focus
Highly organized, attention to detail, excellent follow-up and follow-through
Effective time management, able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Strong relationship-building skills with management, colleagues, suppliers, and customers
Strong analytical, conceptual, and negotiation skills
