Production Operative Pay, Hours and Benefits

  • £25,000 - £26,000 
  • 6:30am – 3:00pm Monday to Thursday, 1:30pm finish on Friday’s
  • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays

This Production Operative role is commutable from the following areas: Ripley, Alfreton, Sutton in Ashfield, Pinxton, South Normanton  


Production Operative Candidate Requirements

  • 3 Years + experience in a manufacturing role
  • Good standard of verbal and written communication skills
  • Forklift truck experience would be advantageous
  • Clean driving license is desirable
  • IT competent
  • Able to operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all health and safety procedures
  • Work on own initiative, check work and solve problems
  • Candidates will need to have permanent eligibility to work in the UK, sponsorship candidates cannot unfortunately be considered


Production Operative Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • The Production Operative will use tools to assemble parts or components to build products.
  • Transfer goods safely to the correct location, physically moving items to the appropriate work area in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Participate in the transfer of goods between manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure that all goods picked are of the correct quantity, and of acceptable quality as defined by the Quality Control procedures.
  • Transfer goods safely to the correct location and process these promptly and correctly via the ERP system.
  • Reference documentation such as drawings and BoM’s.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and quality.
  • Adherence to all health and safety requirements.

Project Engineer Candidate Requirements
Please Note: Due to the security level of the projects the business work on, British Nationality is required for this role.

  • Project Engineer experience within a precision engineering business in a regulated industry
  • Qualified to HNC level minimum - someone who is Apprentice Trained would be ideal. 
  • You will have a precision engineering background, exposure to machining - someone with previous hands-on machining experience would be perfect
  • Experience of manufacturing routings
  • Able to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Good working knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience of defining methods of manufacture for complex products and assemblies.
  • CAD/CAM experience in a relevant software package would be an advantage
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Project

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing quality processes, leading a team of professionals, and driving improvements in product quality and efficiency. This role requires a strong leader with experience in quality assurance, problem-solving methodologies, and effective communication across teams and with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and guide employees within the SQA and Production Quality teams, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Quality Standards Development: Define and implement local Business Unit (BU) quality standards, including work instructions, limit sample lists, and inspection plans, in coordination with BU Production Quality.:
  • Conduct weekly quality improvement meetings to review product quality metrics, scrap rates, and error analyses.
  • Drive the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and corrective action implementation to reduce scrap and improve quality outcomes.
  • Lead and coordinate the 8D problem-solving process for quality complaints.
  • Generate and present 8D reports, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
  • Attend daily Production Quality meetings and monthly Team Leader meetings with senior management to report KPIs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Significant Senior Quality Engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Quality standards and methodologies (8D, FMEA, Control Plans and PPAP’s) 
  • Familiarity with metrology and techniques
  • Strong leadership qualities

TOOLMAKER

This is a super opportunity for  an  experienced Toolmaker to join a busy manufacturing organisation who have a significant uplift  in work, creating the need for an additional Toolmaker in the Toolroom.

We have our own design facility on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manufacture, assemble, maintain, and repair press tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Operate manual machinery, including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and EDM machines.

Role Overview

The Stores Supervisor will oversee order processing and coordinate the daily warehousing activities, including responsibilities across Despatch. You will implement production, productivity, quality and customer service standards and continuing to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance. 


Stores Supervisor Essential Requirements

  • Must be able to demonstrate experience working in a highly pressurised environment - the business is looking for this person to be able to identify, raise and offer solutions
  • Proven and demonstrable Supervisory experience, you will have the ability to direct and coordinate operations
  • This is a hands-on role, so you will have experience of and be prepared to be hands-on
  • Knowledge of stores software packages and MS office proficiency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Driving licence
  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain management or business administration – desirable but not essential

We are looking for somebody to manage and assist in development and engineering projects at the site and to provide second line support to the Engineering team. You identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations to improve machine and process effectiveness.
