PRODUCTION OPERATOR - NIGHTS

We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a Production Operative.

The Process Operator is primarily responsible for the batch manufacturing of products. This includes the preparation, mixing, and reacting of chemical ingredients, alongside monitoring, and documenting the manufacturing process to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. The role contributes to the continuous improvement of production processes and requires collaboration with the production team to optimize methods and outcomes.

YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK – NO SPONSERSHIP IS OFFERED

There will be an initial training period where you will be expected to work days. 

Once fully trained, the working shift pattern will be 12 hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6.00am – 6pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations during batch manufacturing.
  • Promptly report deviations, incidents, or hazards using the appropriate systems.
  • Follow formulation batch sheets and specifications precisely.
  • Accurately adjust processes under laboratory staff guidance.
  • Document process activities completely and promptly.
  • Oversee the operational state of equipment during production.
  • Notify supervisors when raw materials are required or finished products are ready for transfer to the warehouse.
  • Assist with process and product improvements by providing observational feedback.
  • Participate in design and hazard reviews as required.
  • Undertake reasonable additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Perform FLT (Forklift Truck) operations if licensed.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization.
  • Respond to corrective and preventive action requirements in a timely manner.

This role demands a diligent, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented individual with a commitment to supporting team success and continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Fork Lift truck is required
  • Previous Production Operating experience gained from within a chemical / process type industry
  • Troubleshooting 
  • An understanding of the chemical process
  • Willingness to comply to Heath and Safety requirements
  • Happy to work weekend NIGHTS

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct timely product testing at various stages, including in-process, final analysis, and specifications. 
  • Prepare pre-shipment samples and ensure all documentation is accurate. 
  • Perform testing on incoming materials  
  • Maintain and execute test equipment calibration procedures as per schedule. 
  • Issue precise process adjustment instructions to the production team. 
  • Complete inspection and testing procedures as outlined in manufacturing instructions
  • Identify non-conforming materials or process operations and take appropriate actions, including re-processing, concession approval, or safe disposal, while maintaining accurate records. 
  • Authorize changes to product specifications, formulas, and manufacturing instructions when required (in the absence of the Works QC Chemist). 
  • Collaborate with the Senior QC Chemist, QC Lab Manager, and Managing Director on technical matters and concessions. 
  • Respond to non-conformance issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures related to customer complaints and process failures, reporting to the Senior QC Chemist or QC Lab Manager

REQUIREMENTS

  • HNC in Chemistry equivalent Level 4 
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and testing methodologies. 
  • To have the ability to follow chemical testing techniques
  • Previous Lab experience
  • Calibration knowledge
  • Happy to work Weekend DAYS

  • Experience in process safety methodologies, design practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of relevant H & S Environmental legislation
  • Familiarity with FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Plant Start-up processes.
  • Experience of HAZIP/HAZOP/LOPA
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvements

DUTIES of QHSE ENGINEER

  • Develop, implement, and maintain our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems to uphold compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, risks, and non-conformities, and proactively develop corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all employees are well-trained and equipped to work safely.

  • Relevant Process Engineering experience
  • You will have gained your experience from within manufacturing, ideally high volume
  • Engineering Qualifications to support experience
  • Excellent knowledge of labour efficiency improvements and reductions
  • Previous experience of driving OEE and process improvement
