Duties of a Maintenance Electrician

Working within a large, supportive team you will be required to undertake both planned and reactive maintenance across our plant. 

Requirements of a Maintenance Electrician

  • Ideally you will be apprentice trained but must hold either a City & Guilds Level C / 3 or NVQ 3 Standard qualification Electrically.
  • Allied to having a proven experience of undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance within either a heavy engineering / manufacturing, process or production environment. 
  • In addition to your “hands on” skills if you have experience of mentoring apprentices, managing contractors and / or ordering spares you will get the opportunity to utilise these skills.

Duties of a Maintenance Fitter:

As a proven Maintenance Fitter you will be required to undertake both planned and reactive maintenance across our plant, which will require you to have experience of supporting plant and equipment within either a heavy engineering or process plant environment, which has required you to support machine tools, hydraulic valves, gearboxes and pumps.

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance.
  • Identifying parts required to carry out repairs and providing details to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Using blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete projects.
  • Testing of fixed installations.
  • Some building maintenance such as lighting & small power.
  • Installation of 3 phase supplies & associated switchgear.
  • Highlighting potential problems with aging switchgear and advising the correct course of action for rectification.

Maintenance Electrician Requirements:

  • Experience with Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC’s. – Strong fault-finding abilities 
  • Experience with Grinders, Extruders, Injection Moulding machinery. 
  • Ideally experience within Single and 3 phase systems. 
  • Dealing with some Plant maintenance such as Lighting and Small power. 
  • Must be Apprentice trained, holding a Formal qualification in Electrical engineering. 
  • 17th or 18th Edition trained/compliant.
