Supply Chain & Procurement Manager Role Overview

The Supply Chain & Procurement Manager will join on an initial 6-month contract, which could be come permanent. 

This is a pivotal role, responsible for driving efficiencies in purchasing, production planning and inventory management while ensuring the business maintains the highest standards in their manufacturing operations.


Supply Chain & Procurement Manager Candidate Requirements

  • 4–5 years' experience in supply chain and procurement management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing ERP/MRP systems to drive production efficiency.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, reviewing and simplifying BoM Structure, and item parameter optimisation.
  • Competence in data analysis and translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and executing improvement opportunities in supply chain and procurement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


Supply Chain & Procurement Manager Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

ERP-Driven MRP Management: 

  • Managing and optimising the ERP-based MRP system (Dynamics 365 Business Central). 
  • Conducting item parameter reviews and Bill of Materials management. 
  • Supporting planning and scheduling activities. 

Cost Management & Supplier Efficiency:

  • Identifying and delivering inbound cost-saving initiatives, focusing on improving supplier performance and negotiating favourable terms. 
  • Collaborating with suppliers to streamline purchasing, goods-in processes and inventory management. 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Leading efforts to identify and implement process improvements across supply chain and procurement functions. 
  • Championing lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste. 

Inventory Optimisation: 

  • Monitoring stock levels and working closely with production teams to maintain optimal inventory. 
  • Implementing strategies to minimise excess stock while safeguarding against shortages. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Working closely with production, quality and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Influencing key stakeholders and fostering a culture of collaboration and improvement.
     
 

Probe Technical Recruitment are recruiting a very exciting opportunity for an Injection Mould Setter for a global manufacturer based near Rutland. We are looking for somebody who is responsible for maximising the output of quality product from the moulding areas. Maintaining the moulding areas at the required efficiencies and achieving targets set. The company has 2 shifts on offer, a Morning 6am – 2pm and an Afternoon 2pm – 10pm. 

The benefits package for the Injection Mould Setter role include:

  • Level 1 salary starts at £30,697.81 per annum through to Level 3, which is £33,844.33 per annum, plus £667.95 per annum for the Afternoon shift. 
  • 33 days holiday

  • Company sick pay after one years’ service, increasing with length of service to a max 24 weeks

The main duties for the Injection Mould Setter include: 

  • Ensuring safety checks for the department are completed to schedule.
  • Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed as required.
  • All aspects of setting and running moulding machines to maximise the output of quality product.
  • Job changes including colour, material and label changes.
  • Quality checks.
  • Support collection of performance data.
  • Fault finding and process improvements.
  • Prevent damage to equipment/breakdowns through good working practice and basic Preventive maintenance.
  • Ensuring the housekeeping around machines is to the correct quality standard.  
  • You must comply with all company rules, regulations and procedures always and promote good working practices throughout the workforce.

Along with Injection Mould Setters we would be very keen to talk to Process Technicians or Process Engineers around the Stamford, Melton Mowbray, Oakham, and Grantham.

The company run either Days or Nights.  Rates are below for both Shifts. The option to work Days or Nights. 

  • The day shift – Monday to Thursday 7:30am till 4:15pm – Friday 7:30am till 12:30. 
  • Nights: Monday to Thursday 10pm till 7:30am  

Benefits the CNC Turners will receive: 

  • Salary:  Day Rate: £15.28 working a 38hr week.   Annual Rate: £30,193.28 
  • Nights: £15.28 + £4.53 per hour = £19.81. Annual Rate £39,144.56 Pension Contribution matched at 5.5% = 11%

Key Requirements for the CNC Turners: 

  • Carry out machining of components
  • Set up tools and load materials on to CNC Machines 
  • Manually handle Weights up to 25kg

  • Use inspection equipment to ensure components are manufactured to drawings. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvements 
  • Read Engineering Drawings 
  • Use computer equipment for date purposes.
