Probe Technical are looking to recruit a full time and permanent Technical Maintenance Engineer to join an experienced and dedicated Engineering Team near Banbury on days Monday – Friday. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to utilise their engineering skills. This role would suit someone ambitious and ready to take the next step in their career.

The package details for the role of Technical Maintenance Engineer include:

  • Salary up to £56,000 depending on experience.  
  • 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday days 8.30am – 4.30pm
  • Pension is 3% paid via salary sacrifice, saving you tax and NI contributions.
  • Annual Salary Reviews – an annual pay review is conducted every January.
  • Holiday – 23 days plus bank holidays, rising to 25 plus bank holidays after 5 years’ service.

This role has been called a Technical Maintenance Engineer as your main duty is to support the site Engineering Manager. You must be an Apprentice trained Electrical Engineer with Mechanical & Electronical / PLC skills with 17th / 18th Edition qualification.

Other key duties involve:  

  • Support the day-to-day maintenance of the site and to assist the Engineering Manager with co-ordinating the safe and efficient operations of the site in accordance with health and safety and legislative requirements.
  • To carry out risk assessments of routine maintenance procedures and unplanned works.
  • Supporting shift engineers with day to day challenging tasks and looking to resolve in a timely, effective manner 
  • Assisting with maintaining the stores and the correct critical spares are kept in stock, and ensuring replacement of parts as required at all times.
  • Must be competent in both electrical and mechanical principles
  • Must be able to use PLC Control and understand machine data networks 
  • Must be able to read mechanical and electrical schematic diagram

Duties of a Manufacturing Manager

As Special Purpose Machine Build Manager you will lead a multi-disciplined team of technicians to ensure each build is completed on time, within budget and that its handed over to the customer with complete satisfaction.  

As part of your role you will also be tasked with managing site services, driving 5S and ensuring all statutory regulations are adhered to.

Requirements of a Manufacturing Manager

Have a proven background in leading an engineering team within a special purpose machine build environment. Where you have had direct responsibility for plant performance, achieving targets, process development, mentoring staff, setting and monitoring KPI’s and managing critical projects.

You will ideally be:

  • Qualified to a HNC standard Mechanically  
  • Hold either ILM or NEBSM accreditation. 
  • Have climbed the ranks of engineering (ideally from a toolmaking or fitting apprentice) into a management position.

Estimator Role Overview

The business is looking for an experienced Estimator / Steel Estimator / Fabrication Estimator. 

They require a candidate with a proven technical estimating background to join their close-knit team.
