Graduate Estimator Role Overview

  • The Graduate Estimator will have an interest in estimating - any exposure to steel / fabrication would be advantageous.

  • The Graduate Estimator will establish customer requirements from CAD drawings and documents.

  • Researching costs of materials, transport, Labour.

RESPONSIBILITIES for Quality Technician / Inspector /  Engineer

  • This is a shopfloor -based role, supporting Quality and manufacturing issues
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to drive improvements in both quality and process
  • Support NPI and lease of  new projects with quality inspection and homologation of parts
  • Working closely with Suppliers on Quality Inspection and validation of parts
  • Champion lean and good housekeeping (5S)

Role Overview

This is an important role within the Supply Chain Team - it requires a committed and customer focused individual with a supplier centric approach to global multi-site manufacturing. There will be opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the company products and the Supply Chain. This will involve gaining knowledge of Suppliers, Products, and Global Operational activity.

The Buyer – Manufacturing position reports directly into the Purchasing Manager, operating within a team covering all procurement processes for the organisation. 

As part of a small team, the business requires an experienced Buyer - Manufacturing to bring professionalism and critical thinking to the Purchasing Department. A critical part of the company growth strategy will be focused on the ability of the department to evolve the existing supply chain and remain agile.

The right candidate is expected to be confident in buying for all areas but will specifically need to be familiar and confident with manufacturing procurement. 

You will be expected to work with many stakeholders including Production, Stores, Engineering and Project Management to achieve the best business outcomes.


Buyer – Manufacturing Candidate Requirements 

  • Proven experience of a fast-paced manufacturing procurement, including a familiarisation of working with BoMs and ability to interpret technical drawings.

Buyer – Manufacturing Key Responsibilities

  • Manage spend on various categories across multiple manufacturing sites taking a sustainable supplier centric approach.
  • Negotiate stock holding agreements or other methods to enable smooth materials flow.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to maximise customer order delivery success.
  • Effective communication of any parts availability risk ensuring that all options to resolve any availability concern is fully explored and appropriate action taken.
  • Purchase Order placement for both system driven manufacturing materials and requisitioned parts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in conjunction with cross-functional project teams.
  • Supplier development to support achievement of KPIs.
  • Manage vendor performance including involvement with supplier audits.
  • Identify potential new suppliers and negotiate best terms from all suppliers.
  • Interaction with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Involvement with NPD, NPI and engineering change activity and effective co-ordination of suppliers and stock requirements
 

Probe Technical are looking to recruit a full time and permanent Technical Support Engineer to join a world leading supplier in their field. Privately owned, their global reach extends to 20 countries, and in the UK they develop and manufacture bespoke products which are exported around the world.

This is a great opportunity to join them in a key role as Technical Support Engineer, where you would provide a proactive, effective, and efficient technical service and customer complaint root cause analysis function within the business. The successful candidate with clear focus and direction will ensure all deliverables are achieved, on time and to the highest quality standards within a rapidly growing and developing organisation.

  • Salary £46,000 + Bonus

To make a successful Technical Support Engineer you will be a very driven individual with a proven track record in a technical electro / mechanical fault-finding and Service work whilst also being able to lead and develop a small team. Experience with an ERP system such as SAP is essential along with a minimum of HNC in Mechanical or Electronics. Other key duties involve:

  • Co-ordinate all activities within the Service / CCF department such as primary investigations, and corrective action
  • Processing customer enquiries for mechanical, electrical, documentation and testing requirements according to agreed procedures.
  • Quotations for service work and spares to the required specifications.
  • The requirement of quick response times to customer complaint enquiries is essential to sales companies and end customers, therefore the role is measured against agreed KPIs.
  • Ensure primary inspections are completed in accordance with department service level agreements and that technical clarity is assured.
  • Manage end to end all customer complaint investigations through to root cause and prepare suitable technical reports.

The Technical Support Engineer role is commutable from Northampton, Wellingborough, Bedford, Leicester and Peterborough. 

 

Probe Technical are looking to recruit a full time and permanent Service Engineer for one of the UKs largest manufacturers of equipment. With their machinery distributed worldwide, they are looking to expand in the service department, and this would be a great time to join a business that is extremely busy with plenty of work. We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Service Engineer with hydraulic, mechanical and general electrical experience.

You will drive a company van across the UK and travel abroad, repairing and commissioning. When not out on the road, you will be based at the site in Nottingham, refurbishing second hand machinery.

The package details for the role of Service Engineer include:

  • Salary £40,000 - £42,000 depending on experience.  
  • Monday – Friday days, 8am – 5pm.

For the role of Service Engineer, we are keen to talk to people who have experience with mechanical and hydraulic machines. General electrical ability - wiring motors and control panels etc and Welding experience. Other key duties involve:

  • Ability to communicate with customers at all levels.
  • Experience with pneumatics is a advantage.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.

The Service Engineer role is commutable from Derby and Nottingham but can cover UK and worldwide.

Duties of a Maintenance Technician
