KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Policy Development & Implementation: 
  • Provide ongoing EHS training and ensure effective communication with employees on health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Track EHS performance and report 
  • Oversee waste disposal, emissions control, and effluent discharge, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans
  • Stay informed on the latest health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Promote initiatives to enhance employee health, safety, and overall well-being.
  • Benchmark practices against industry standards and integrate innovative technologies to enhance safety and environmental performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operational teams to promote and improve EHS standards throughout the organization.
  • QMS and EHS System Development: Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) and EHS management systems, ensuring proper audits and corrective actions.
  • Accreditation & Certification: Ensure the organization maintains and achieves accreditation to relevant standards such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and ISO 50001.
  • Incident Investigation & Reporting: 
  • Risk Assessments & SOP Reviews: Conduct risk assessments, review Standard Work Procedures (SWP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence 
  • EHS Auditing & Compliance: Monitor and audit production processes to identify unsafe behaviors and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Liaison with Authorities: Collaborate with law enforcement and investigators in the event of serious accidents or incidents.


REQUIREMENTS

  • In-depth knowledge of EHS legislation and procedures, Experience in creating safety plans and leading EHS improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices for managing waste, emissions, and other environmental impacts.
  • Experience with external audits and maintaining relevant certifications.
  • Good knowledge of 14001 and 45001 standards
  • Strong IT literacy
  • Ideally, you will have gained your experience from with manufacturing / engineering

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI): Assist in the successful launch of new products, ensuring smooth transitions from design to production.
  • Handle the ordering and monitoring of tooling, ensuring availability and readiness for production.
  • Tool Trials and Approvals
  • Create and maintain flow diagrams for product routes, ensuring accurate documentation of processes.
  • Develop and implement control plans for production parts, ensuring consistent quality.
  • Train operators on new methods, tooling, and fixtures, particularly for the introduction of new products.
  • Obtain and review budgetary quotes for tooling and equipment to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, such as SMED, 5S, and other continuous improvement projects.
  • Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA): Collaborate with the design team to apply best practices for manufacturability and assembly during the design process.
  • Lead or support projects aimed at reducing production costs without compromising quality.
  • Implement changes to methods or tooling as needed to support product improvements or customer requirements.
  • Participate in Six Sigma projects to improve process efficiency and reduce variability.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Evidence of successful implementation of continuous improvement projects
  • Supporting Engineering  Qualifications are welcomed but equivalent experience is happily considered
  • Exposure to tooling, SMED

About You

You will be a process led, diligent CNC Programmer / Engineer, with an eye for quality and detail as well as good background skills in workload management and communication.

Able to demonstrate experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a similar environment or industry. An ability to work and resolve issues within the production environment, quickly and accurately is a must.

Candidate Requirements

  • An experienced Machinist with CNC (VMC/Milling) programming ability.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of programming, setting and operating 3 axis CNC cutting machines.
  • Autodesk Fusion 360 programming software experience would be useful.
  • Working experience working within a tool room / plant and equipment maintenance environment.
  • Good knowledge and practical understanding of mechanical engineering applications in product assembly, jigs and fixtures, plant and equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, machining and finish specifications. PC skills and experience of packages such as Excel and Standard Analyses: Nav, Creo, Windchill, DXF, Cad viewing packages. 
  • Be able to use and operate a wide range of manual machines such as millers, grinders, saws etc.
  • MIG/TIG welding experience in the workplace.
  • Experience of contributing to small group activities to drive improvement ideas. 


Role Overview

  • The CNC Programmer will programme, set and operate a variety of 3 axis CNC Machines for component and fixturing manufacture and assembly.
  • As part of a small in-house team, the CNC Programmer will play an equal part supporting production with modified or bespoke machined components made from a variety of materials from nylon through to stainless steel, as well as working on longer term continuous improvement projects that require machined content (i.e. tooling, fixturing etc).
  • Reporting into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the CNC Programmer will work cross functionally with Production Leadership, Planning and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure production requirements for short turn-around components are met. 
  • You will work within the Tool room / Plant Maintenance function, in addition supporting the wider production operation in areas such as jigs and fixture repair, equipment maintenance and prototyping.

  • Evaluate measurement data
  • Daily planning and scheduling of metrology workloads
  • Conduct and complete set ups, measurements and interpretations for part investigations

  • Drawing up initial sample test reports as per the VDA and PPAP template
  • Calibration of gauges, maintain measuring equipment

  • It is essential that you have relevant CMM Programming experience
  • Ideally PC-DMIS
  • Any QUINDOS knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential
  • To have gained your experience from within a manufacturing environment
  • Good working knowledge of PPAP’s and SPC
  • Good level of IT Literacy
