MAINTENACE ENGINEER

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to work for a growing manufacturing company based in the Shropshire area. My client is a multi-award-winning business group that provide manufacturing, supply, and transport of their products globally. 

My client is looking for a maintenance engineer to join their team on a day’s continental shift pattern. The right person will be a multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical abilities and previous experience in an FMCG environment. As well as a good salary and benefits package my client offers stability and great working culture.  

Maintenance Engineer Role Benefits:

Maintenance Engineer Duties include:

  • Continentals 4 on 4 off. (Days only with holiday night shift cover). 
  • Carry out planned and routine maintenance. 
  • Attend breakdowns. 
  • Promote health and safety. 
  • Update CMMS. 
  • Project work. 
  • Installs. 

As a Maintenance Engineer Requirements include: 

  • Apprentice trained ideally to HNC Level 4
  • Must be electrically qualified. 
  • 18th Edition (Desirable). 
  • CMMS experience. 
  • Experience using PLCs (Preferably Siemens S7). 
  • Experience with Fanuc and ABB Robots (Advantageous). 
  • Strong fault-finding capabilities. 
  • FMCG experience. 
  • Ability to read engineering drawings. 
  • Good IT skills.

Role Overview

The Product Manager is responsible for leading growth strategy, profitability, and optimisation across your assigned segment and regional product portfolio.  

The successful candidate will have strong technical aptitude and a strategic mindset.  You will be instrumental in leading the growth of a key strategic segment. This is an excellent role for a product management, sales, or technical professional in the industrial controls or electrical safety industries.


Segment Product Manager Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Engineering or technical degree is highly preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Product Management, Technical, or Sales function within a technical B2B environment.
  • Experience with industrial access controls, smart device products or electrical safety products would be hugely advantageous. 
  • Knowledge of the Food & Beverage market preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude with ability to develop working knowledge of industry standards.
  • Experience working with distribution channel and multiple paths to market.
  • Ability to create strong relationships and collaborate across the global organization.
  • Understanding of product development and demonstrated execution from Voice of Customer to NPD launch.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to simplify complex concepts.

Segment Product Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of Segment strategy to achieve significant profitable growth.
  • Establish deep understanding of Segment applications and technical standard requirements. Maintain global Segment Application Map, ensuring PM team and other key stakeholders are actively aware of updates.
  • Manage the existing regional product portfolio, including pricing, revenue, profitability, and appropriate product line optimization.
  • Support development of global product roadmap, providing insight and direction for products in assigned region.
  • Develop deep customer and market knowledge through market, competitor, and VOC research to inform and enhance the segment’s growth strategy.
  • Create detailed, market driven product definition and supporting business cases to feed NPD pipeline. In partnership with cross-functional teams, define ‘Go to Market’ strategy to ensure NPD projects are delivered on time and effectively meet the needs of the market.
  • Drive channel partner and customer engagement through webinars, tradeshows, onsite visits, and other training programs in support of Segment growth targets. 
  • Communicate strategy, industry trends, wins/ best practices, and competitive intelligence across all functional groups and regions, including Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations.

  • Exposure to Quality control tools such as PFMEA and  Control Plans

RESPONSIBILITIES for PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

  • Design and develop high-quality products using CAD software, primarily Autodesk Inventor
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and specifications to guide manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with our quality standards
  • Uphold the integrity of our design and development work

REQUIREMENTS for PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Ideally, an understanding of metals, fabrication techniques, and machining processes.
  • Expertise in Autodesk Inventor and familiarity with Autodesk Vault preferred but experience with other CAD systems will be considered
  • Background in shop floor machining or hands-on manufacturing environments.
  • Experience producing BOMs (Bills of Materials) and technical documentation for manufacturing.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
