Job Description
I have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-known company based near Wolverhampton. As an engineer you will support the engineering team leader to carry out effective maintenance across the site.
My client is looking for a maintenance engineer to join their team on a continental shift pattern. The right person will be a multi-skilled engineer with no preference as training will be provided. Maintenance Engineer Duties include:
- Continental shift pattern 2 days 2 nights.
- Planned and Reactive maintenance.
- Ensure smooth running of the plant and machinery.
- Manage and supervise sub-contractors on site.
- Identify and procure critical plant spares.
- Monitor electrical and mechanical systems performance.
As a Maintenance Engineer Requirements include:
- Apprentice trained.
- 18th edition (Advantageous).
- FMCG experience.
- Strong fault-finding capabilities.
- Health & Safety / Food Safety.
- Be knowledgeable in using quality assurance systems and standards.
- PLC knowledge (advantageous)
- CMMS Knowledge.
- Be able to work as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES for TOOLMAKER
- Manufacture, repair, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Work from technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise tolerances and high-quality results.
- Operate a variety of manual machinery including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Inspect and test finished products to ensure they meet strict quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tooling solutions and improve production processes.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
REQUIREMENTS for TOOLMAKER
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker or relevant role in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to interpret and work from complex technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of general Toolroom equipment and materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

DUTIES
- Day to day planning, problem solving and operation of the Machine Shop
- Identification for areas for improvements
- Ensure team meets the required performance targets
- Day to day planning
- Performance and development appraisals and identification of training needs
- Working closely with designers and customers to provide technical input
- Programming /Offline Programming using CADCAM software
- CNC Setting and Operating
- Day to day running of the Machine Shop
- Contribute to monthly management meetings
