SERVICE ENGINEER

Job Description

Probe Technical are looking to recruit a full time and permanent Site Service Engineer to become part of the team, in 
servicing and commissioning company equipment. They are a leading UK manufacturer with a foundation of 40+ years’ experience and globally very well respected. 

The role will require you to be both based from home and the facility near Spalding.  

The package details for the role of Site Service Engineer includes:

  • Salary £33,000+ base over time on top 
  • Monday – Friday role hours 08.00 until 17.00 some days hours may vary due to the nature of the role 
  • Company Pension 3% and 5%
  • Holidays – 20 days plus bank holiday. This increases with years of service 
  • Company Van

To make a successful Site Service Engineer you must hold an Electrical bias and have experience in a role travelling around customer sites in England. There could be a potential for overseas work, but this isn’t definite.

Some duties include:

  • Commissioning of newly installed machines.
  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing installed machines.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying faults as part of warranty claims.
  • Producing reports which can be shared with customers.
  • Preparing and assisting in preparing and completing Risk Assessments and Method 
  • Ensuring equipment required for the role and retained in the company vehicle are 
  • maintained and tested when required.
  • Conduct basic site surveys with the requirement to read engineering drawings.
  • Provide basic electrical support.

The Service Engineer role is commutable Peterborough, Sleaford, Boston and Kings Lynn.

Lifting Supervisor Key Responsibilities

  • Create method statements and safe systems of work for required lifting operations.
  • Regularly review and update lifting plans.
  • Manage and monitor crane stability, duty charts and safety devices.
  • Plan and execute all mobile crane contract lifts onsite.
  • Undertake routine checks on lifting equipment in line with LOLER regulations.
  • Manage and monitor daily workload and priorities for a team of Slingers, Signallers, Bankspeople and crane operators.
  • Lead the daily operational briefing.
  • Supervise working areas and makes sure any changes are addressed through revised risk assessments.
  • Carry out competence-based workplace assessments for OHC Operators, Slingers, Signallers and Bankspeople.
  • Prepare exclusion zones.


Lifting Supervisor Other Responsibilities

  • Health and Safety and taking care of our team members is paramount.
  • Take reasonable care not to put yourself, other people, fellow colleagues and members of the public at risk by what you do or don’t do in the course of your work.
  • Co-operate with your line manager, making sure you attend and receive appropriate training, and you understand and follow the company’s health and safety policies.
  • Report any injuries, strains or illnesses that occur as a result of doing your job, this may require a change in the way you work.
