MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Job Description

Probe Technical Recruitment are recruiting a great opportunity for a proven Maintenance Engineer to join a well-respected manufacturing business. We are seeking an experienced, multi-skilled, Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer to perform pro-active and reactive maintenance activities across the manufacturing facilities. The role will cover a range of machinery (from manual machines through to machining centres) along with fabrication equipment and general maintenance.

Along with a day shift Monday – Friday with a 12.30 finish on a Friday, the Maintenance Engineer role also has a package of:

  • Salary £40,000  
  • Paid Overtime at 1.5x
  • Company Pension at 4% company and 4% employee

You must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent and have experience with Machine Tool, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Electro/ Mechanical. Some duties include:

  • Install new equipment on site to the required standards and specifications.
  • Diagnose faults on plant and equipment as required and establish methods for rectification
  • Ensure any relevant start up procedures are performed following the repair of any plant or equipment.
  • Ensure any mechanical or electrical work is carried out within the level of competence.
  • Ensure effective procurement of any spare part requirements, including communication with suppliers and the raising of purchase orders.

The role of Maintenance Engineer is commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Chesterfield & Mansfield.

Quality Inspector Candidate Requirements

  • Proven Quality experience.
  • The environment is always changing, so you have to be adaptable. 
  • IT literate – an amount of time will be spent transferring data into the system.
  • A good communicator – confident enough to challenge individuals. 
  • UK Driving license as the site is not easy to get to via public transport.


Quality Inspector Key Responsibilities

  • Engage production teams in quality management processes and drive a continuous improvement culture.
  • Inspection of product at all stages of production in accordance with the Inspection Test Plan.
  • Identification of defects, non-conformance and opportunities for improvement within the production processes. Assistance in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Participate in internal and external accrediting body audits.

Quality Control Manager Pay, Hours and Benefits

  • £45,000  
  • 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday (with some flexibility and an earlier finish on Friday’s)

Quality Control Manager Role Overview

  • The business is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to join a well-established manufacturing team. This is a standalone role, with no direct reports.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring quality control, implementing improvements and maintaining compliance.


Quality Control Manager Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a hands-on Quality Engineer / Quality Control Manager, working to the quality principles of ISO 9001.
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, ISIR, DPU and experience of these methodologies in a manufacturing environment are highly desirable.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and schematics.
  • Can conduct risk assessments and generate safe systems of work documentation.
  • Experience of simple project management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems and testing methodologies.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.


Quality Control Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Create an APQP based quality system for manufacturing to include workflows, training and control plans. They do not require statistical process control.
  • Specify, acquire and implement appropriate dimensional measurement tools.
  • Investigate customer returns, establish the root cause and apply learnings.
  • Monitor the production cycle and report on malfunctions.
  • Inspect procedures for the production cycle and ensure their efficiency and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards, recording supplier performance.
  • Maintain records of testing, information and metrics. 
  • Develop, document and maintain a thorough network of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure standards are maintained to the ISO 90001 system.
  • Assess adherence to industry codes.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
