MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

Job Description

New exciting opportunity to join a Global Manufacturing organisation based in Greater Manchester Area.  This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an already established maintenance team. 

The Maintenance Engineers position is commutable from the following locations: Warrington / Skelmersdale / Bolton / Wigan 

Shift the maintenance engineer will be required to work Shift Pattern 4 on 4 off - 2 x 12 hr days & 2 x 12hr nights, 5 * 18-day breaks fixed

The maintenance engineer will be responsible and hold the following experience:  

  • Maintain and install all mechanical plant & machinery in line with company requirements.
  • React quickly, diagnose & repair any mechanical related problems on the plant or equipment.
  • Carry out our planned preventative maintenance schedule on the full range of equipment within the site .
  • Ensure that all plant and machinery is kept in a good, safe working & clean condition.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the task being performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Carry out daily inspections as requested related to safety, air, steam and water leaks and complete repairs as necessary.
  • Report any problems regarding equipment and machinery immediately to the Engineering Team Leader.
  • Ensure that you are aware of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that you always adhere to them.
  • Complete Maintenance work orders, use of a CMMS system, Agility or similar
  • Experience with pneumatic & hydraulic equipment & systems
  • Knowledge of high-pressure steam boilers and systems
  • Welding skills such as MMA, TIG, MIG
  • General workshop skills, tools, lathe, milling etc.
  • Able to read schematic drawings
  • Some multi skilling would be advantageous
  • Ideally you will be Apprentice trained holding a HNC / City & guilds Level 3 in Mechanical engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare customer orders, including quality certificates, safety information, and labelling.
  • Verify product conformity certificates before despatch.
  • Maintain and update material movement records and internal stock systems.
  • Conduct all activities in line with company policies for health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Report deviations or incidents in writing using the appropriate reporting system.
  • Safely off-load road tankers to IBCs and manage the loading of return drums to specific suppliers.
  • Accurately identify and allocate incoming raw materials, ensuring stock rotation.
  • Identify raw material deficiencies from picking lists and notify the Purchasing or Technical/Commercial Manager.
  • Check returned raw materials from production and return them to stock.
  • Maintain the warehouse and surrounding compound in a clean and safe condition.
  • Ensure all required records and documentation are retained and kept up-to-date.
  • Sample products for quality control, research and development, and sales orders.
  • Request batch sheets for testing and re-batching purposes.
  • Apply supply, transport, and other required labels before despatch.
  • Ensure accurate and timely despatch of materials to meet customer requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Happy to work DAYS
  • Fork Lift Truck Licence
  • Relevant Warehouse Operative experience
  • Ideally gained within a manufacturing environment

PRODUCTION OPERATOR - NIGHTS

We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a Production Operative.

The Process Operator is primarily responsible for the batch manufacturing of products. This includes the preparation, mixing, and reacting of chemical ingredients, alongside monitoring, and documenting the manufacturing process to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. The role contributes to the continuous improvement of production processes and requires collaboration with the production team to optimize methods and outcomes.

YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK – NO SPONSERSHIP IS OFFERED

There will be an initial training period where you will be expected to work days. 

Once fully trained, the working shift pattern will be 12 hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6.00am – 6pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations during batch manufacturing.
  • Promptly report deviations, incidents, or hazards using the appropriate systems.
  • Follow formulation batch sheets and specifications precisely.
  • Accurately adjust processes under laboratory staff guidance.
  • Document process activities completely and promptly.
  • Oversee the operational state of equipment during production.
  • Notify supervisors when raw materials are required or finished products are ready for transfer to the warehouse.
  • Assist with process and product improvements by providing observational feedback.
  • Participate in design and hazard reviews as required.
  • Undertake reasonable additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Perform FLT (Forklift Truck) operations if licensed.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization.
  • Respond to corrective and preventive action requirements in a timely manner.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fork Lift truck is required
  • Previous Production Operating experience gained from within a chemical / process type industry
